From red wings

Chillin, originally uploaded by Louis the Pug.

So, I got real sick the other night. I actually passed out and had a mini seizure or something… it was pretty whack. Tim carried me inside and then I felt a rumble in the breadbasket… I hurled out some mean looking black stuff, but was a little better after that. Then about 4 am I did it again… off to the V-E-T!

We get there and the lucky folks there got to rummage in my hurl and poop. Best… job… ever. Anyways, they see no blood in it (I coulda told em that) and since I was all peppy and happy at that point, they let me go. Well, not before taking my temperature, and let’s just say they must have left the oral thermometer on another desk. Yikes.

So, yesterday Tim and Kimberly get a call saying the results were in… I, Louis the Pug, have hookworm. Sooooo… I get 3 days of deworming medicine (not tasty) in my food (upgraded to mask said untasty medicine). Then we go 3 weeks, then we do the 3 day treatment again. Then the V-E-T gets to look at more of my poop.

Guess that monthly worm prevention pill took a month off, eh?

None of this explains my fainting episode though. I think it’s because I’m so ripped and pumped muscularly that there isn’t enough blood in my body to get to the brain from time to time… bam! Fainting!

You know what else causes fainting? The awesomeness of my hockey teams… both the Sabres and Wings won tonight as I convalesced. That’s fancy talk for getting better, yo…

waking from a long slumber

it’s been a crazy long time since I’ve posted. It’s largely because Kimberly and Tim have been moving an entire business from one side of Dupont Circle to another. Who knew moving could be so dramatic? G-Ma was in town and took good care of me, and I also now have a dog walker. Juan takes me out every weekday and I get to roll with a new playgroup. Most of the dogs are way bigger than me, but I keep them on their toes ’cause I’m waaaaay faster.

How about them Red Wings? Tim and I watched Game 1 together in our gear. I grew so bored by the lack of fight in the Dallas Stars that I fell asleep midway through the game. Maybe Game 3 they’ll show up… nah, probably not…

Hopefully my little hiatus didn’t bum ya out. Plenty of me to go around, yo. By the way… Bonnard? Still fat. Exhibit A:

return to normalcy

Wellll, looks like things will be getting back to normal again soon… I’m already back at home napping on the couch, Kimberly returns home on Friday, and the city of Buffalo’s hearts are once again about to be skewered by the sharp pointy stick of shattered expectations. (apologies for triple mixed metaphor… I’m a pug, not a classics professor). Now, maybe there will be a 4 game streak miracle, but let’s face it… western NYers are used to their sports teams in the “close but no cigar” category anyways. As my little paws type this, the Wings are doing pretty well, so at least one of my teams looks pretty good… we shall see…

Tim was doing a little marketing and networking today, but then came home and finished up most of the gardening under the blue sky and sun. Looks pretty good… unfortunately he built that wall so there’s no more peeing on pretty plants. Luckily he’s made up a whole huge area of monkey grass for me to take care of business. We’ll see if it can stand up to my mighty liquid nitrogenous wastes…

Sabres-Sens: What we’re in for

The Wings clinched the other night, but right now I’m focused on the gentlemanly rivalry of the Sabres and the Senators. There’s nothing like two teams that play the game and respect one another on and off the ice. It’s better when they don’t like each other though. This was 3 months ago (warning to the kids and anyone who finds fighting a bad thing… there’s fighting and stuff here):

Should be a pretty chippy series, eh? Are we going to have to get a dog whisperer for these guys like a certain pug we all know? Hmmm…

Tim’s back on Friday… looking forward to harassing him instead of my cool sitters!

Sabres victorious

It was a tough series, but the Sabres pulled it out… on to the Eastern Finals against the Sens… should be an awesome series, but I think the Sabres shall prevail. On the other side, we’ve got a big game 6 tomorrow night when the Wings can clinch the series… a few games closer to the nirvana of a Sabres-Wings cup final! (with apologies to my Canadian and California readers…)

I’m hanging with Jeremy and Robin again this week while Tim’s out in Oregon doing some business stuff. One of these days he may just prove himself worthy of moving up to the corporate offices, but for now I think it’s good that he has to scratch and claw at his own entrepreneurial ventures… Anyways, I got dogparked a couple of times already, and I managed to overheat myself pretty good. So good, in fact, that Robin and Jeremy thought I was a bit too puffy in the face, so I got to get a taste of Benedryl for the first time in a while. Tis the season!

Tim informed me that the recent spate of ill behavior on my part is going to result in a 5 session training thing. Kinda like that dog whisperer guy on TV… yeah, we’ll see who’s the alpha pack leader pal… burf!

Just got back from visiting Kimberly in upstate NY… I have pictures I’ll post tomorrow. In the meantime, look at my report card from Tim I intercepted regarding my stay last night at his friend’s house in White Plains:

so louis peed on about 3 different things… hopped on tables and sofas (not allowed for their dog)… stole crackers off a plate… he was a basic nightmare. oh yeah, pooed on the floor too.

Sounds like an A+++ to me! Wonder if I get an extra treat for that tonight? Or maybe a double dinner? I’m wicked tired… I ran around for about 12 hours with a Cairn Terrier named Dublin. Little booger wore me OUT yo!

Sabres lost this afternoon, but the Wings won yesterday… we’ll call the weekend a success. Pics tomorrow!

men-only, day 1: gardening

Kimberly’s gone for a month. Now, that’s looooonnng time, but I’ve decided to not be sad, and make the most of it. It’s man time.

Me and Tim decided to do some gardening work today… well, he decided to do some gardening, and I decided to hang back and watch. Apparently the days of me going into the back yard and dropping deuces and peein’ on whatever I want’s pretty much over. Tim’s constructing a brick wall that’s just a bit higher than I can jump to protect me from the place where plants used to live. I say used to, because apparently plants don’t take kindly to my waste product. Who knew?

Weather’s gorgeous today, perhaps as a tribute to the double OT victory by the Wings last night. I’ll leave my commentary to myself regarding the punk back up goalie (back up!) who used his stick like a hatchet on my boy Johan Franzen… but I will say, I bark in his general direction. Burf!

So, men-only day 1 is a success. I still miss Kimberly though… good thing we’re doing a roadie on Friday to go see her in NY!

resting up

Gotta get some rest now that everyone’s home… wanna know why? Let’s just say tomorrow is a BIG FRIGGIN ANNIVERSARY here at

Yep, that’s right… two years ago tomorrow, we launched and its subsidiary louisthepug industries. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. No? Ever heard of Google? General Motors? IBM? Yeah… mine, mine and mine… hence, my ability to rest on my laurels today.

Kimberly is leaving town for a whole month this weekend… she says its for some training thing, but I think she might be cheating on me with another pug. I may have to go send some of my people up there to make sure that’s not happening… worse, she could be consorting with a puggle! That would NOT be acceptable…

Speaking of not acceptable… the Wings lost last night, but worse,’s radio feed dropped out after the first period, so I couldn’t root on the boys. That lack of access over the Internets must have allowed the Flames to wake up and beat the Wings… what’s up Need a little more bandwidth so a pug in DC can listen to his game?? Hmmm… I sense a conspiracy, yo…

Kickin it

I have to say, while I miss Kimberly and Tim while they’re out galavanting across the country (and – ahem – didn’t bring me along), I have it pretty good when I’m hangin with Jeremy and Robin. Yesterday i got dogparked for, like, hours. Hours! I was so floored I barely hung out with those suburb dogs (honestly, we really don’t have a lot in common… no judgments though). Today, we went to the farmers’ market. Needless to say, I don’t get a lot of farmers’ market time with Tim and Kimberly… they’re usually off doing yoga or something.

Anyways, my mini-vacation is topped off by the fact that both the Sabres and Red Wings crushed their “competition” in Game 1 of their respective series. I smell Stanley, yo. Just can’t tell how far west the beatiful odor is eminating from…
